Meet Our Team!

Heather Kauffman, 

Program Supervisor

Heather has been supervisor at The Lighthouse since its opening in 2016. Heather received her BSW from UNC Charlotte and has worked in child welfare previously. Heather enjoys providing education to the community and is passionate about prevention.

Belinda Butler,

Forensic Interviewer

Belinda is one of our forensic interviewers and has served children her entire career. Belinda also teaches Darkness to Light for the Lighthouse. Belinda's favorite part of her job is helping children.

Kathryn Shemesh, LCSW

Trauma Therapist

Kathryn is our on-site trauma therapist for children. Kathryn provides children with coping skills and helps guide them through their healing journey. Kathryn has a MSW degree from University of South Carolina and has her LCSW. Kathryn's favorite part of her job is watching the children grow.

Shiniqua Lee, LCSWA

Victim Advocate

Shiniqua is our Victim Advocate and is the first friendly face you see upon arriving at The Lighthouse. Shiniqua has her MSW from Norfolk State University. Shiniqua's favorite part about her job is being there for children and families during their difficult times.

Morgan Lail, 

Forensic Interviewer

Morgan is one of our forensic interviewers. She has a MSW degree from University of South Carolina. Morgan's favorite part of her job is watching the children grow throughout their healing journey.

Hannah Hopper,

Community Awareness and Outreach Specialist 

Hannah is our community awareness and outreach specialist. Hannah graduated from Southern Wesleyan University with her bachelors degree in Human Services. Hannah's favorite part about her job is educating the community and building partnerships.
